Since 2017, Action Against Hunger has hosted more than 80 volunteers from the European Union Volunteering Programme on the ground
Action Against Hunger's European Voluntary Service in Humanitarian Action is a European Commission programme which, within the European Solidarity Corps, offers young people between 18 and 35 years old, European or long-term residents in Europe, the opportunity to participate in humanitarian aid projects.

Hacking Hunger: Aaron
"For me, hacking hunger means harnessing new approaches and technologies to address the root causes of hunger and food insecurity," he explains. Aaron is one of the 100 volunteers who supported our missions in different countries in 2023. He is based in the Philippines and works on Climate and Environment.

She is based in Colombia and works in the Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability and Learning department. "Hacking hunger means getting information to anticipate needs and improve our response," he explains.
Hacking Hunger: Mathilde
Mathilde is one of the 100 volunteers who supported our missions in different countries in 2023. She is based in Senegal and works in the Research and Innovation department. "Hacking hunger means finding innovative solutions to the problem of hunger," she explains.
Hacking Hunger: Laurène
Laurène is one of the 100 volunteers who supported our missions in different countries in 2023. She is based in the Philippines and is a protection expert. "Hacking hunger means tailoring our projects to the specific needs and obstacles related to gender and age of vulnerable people," she explains.
Hacking Hunger: Carmen
"For me, hacking hunger means understanding where malnutrition comes from and using technology to fight it," she explains. Carmen is one of the 100 volunteers who have supported our missions in different countries in 2023. She is based in Peru and works as a Gender Specialist.

Marta is one of the 100 volunteers who have supported our missions in different countries in 2023. She is based in the Philippines and works in the Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability and Learning department. "Hacking hunger means attacking it with the latest technology available and the tools we develop at Action Against Hunger," she explains.
