Requirements for volunteering
REQUIREMENTS
There is no need for experience in humanitarian aid to participate in the European Voluntary Service in Humanitarian Action Programme of Action Against Hunger. The programme is open to people with different profiles, experiences or backgrounds. However, you must meet a number of requirements to participate:
- Be a European citizen or legally resident in a Member State or Programme Partner Country (Iceland, Liechtenstein, Turkey and the Republic of North Macedonia)
- Be between 18 and 35 years old.
- Be available to leave on the date of the 12-month deployment.
- Be registered on the European Solidarity Corps Portal.
- Have indicated in your European Solidarity Corps profile your interest in volunteering in humanitarian aid.
- Have enrolled in and passed the European Commission's mandatory pre-registration training course.
- Meet the specific requirements of each vacancy, which are detailed in the terms of reference.

VOLUNTEERING
The different profiles have been identified based on the local needs of each country where Action Against Hunger works. Volunteers support the missions through their skills and at the same time receive professional training from organisations specialised in humanitarian aid.
