Digital Pact for the Protection of People
Since 2021, Action Against Hunger has joined the Digital Pact for the Protection of People, promoted by the Spanish Data Protection Agency (AEPD). This initiative promotes a major agreement for coexistence in the digital sphere. Its aim is both to foster a commitment to privacy in the business models of companies and organisations, making the right to data protection compatible with innovation, ethics and business competitiveness, and to raise awareness among citizens, especially minors, of the consequences of distributing sensitive content on the Internet. The AEPD provides a Priority Channel to request the urgent removal of sexual and violent content disseminated on the Internet without the consent of the persons concerned (Spanish nationals or residents in Spain) and other AEPD resources and tools to help raise awareness of the value of privacy and the importance of the processing of personal data.
