With a master's degree in political science and another in international relations, Olivier Longué initially focused his professional career on international cooperation, working with the French Ministry of Cooperation in Guinea Bissau and the United Nations in New York

Professional Career
  • In 1991, he decided to focus his career on humanitarian action, and since then has been committed to working in major crises, whether natural or man-made. 
  • Since 1995 he has been the managing director of Action Against Hunger in Spain, representing the foundation at national and international level. He is also responsible for strategic planning and overall programme management in the various countries where the organisation operates directly.
Humanitarian and Social Commitment

Olivier Longué has contributed to numerous articles and books, especially on issues related to hunger, crises and vulnerable groups. He is currently engaged in high-level humanitarian advocacy work representing Action Against Hunger on issues related to the global food and malnutrition crisis.

Director of Social Action and Technical Engineering 

Academic Background

Agricultural engineer with a degree from the University of Lleida and a technical degree in Agricultural Business Management from the University of Valladolid. He has also completed a Master's degree in European Development Cooperation Policies at the UAB and an ESADE Executive Programme in Leadership and Social Innovation.

Professional Career

At the professional level, he has held technical positions at the Department of Agriculture of the Autonomous Government of Catalonia, and at the Department of International Cooperation of COPCA (ACC1Ó) within the programme for the promotion of the participation of the private sector in international cooperation.

  • In 2008 he started his career with Action Against Hunger in Armenia, Azerbaijan and Georgia, working as a socio-economic consultant specialising in Inclusive Markets. In 2009, he began his work in Spain as head of the regional delegations of Action Against Hunger, managing the portfolio of regional public and private donors.
  • Between 2009 and 2012, he carried out several monitoring and evaluation consultancies for food security projects in various countries: Occupied Palestinian Territory, Nicaragua, Georgia, Peru, Bolivia, East Timor, etc.
  • Since 2012, he has held the position of director of delegations and social action programmes in Spain.

Academic Background

Telecommunications Engineer from the Polytechnic University of Madrid (UPM). Master's Degree in International Business Management from the Centre for Economic and Commercial Studies (CECO). Master's Degree in Strategies and Technology for Development from the Polytechnic University of Madrid (UPM) and the Complutense University of Madrid (UCM). “On Purpose" NGO and social enterprise leadership programme in the UK.

Professional Career

He has developed his professional career at private, public and third sector organisations.

He started his career as an engineer at Ericsson, deploying mobile networks in Africa and Asia. He later collaborated with the Institute for Foreign Trade (ICEX) at the Spanish Economic and Commercial Office in Sydney. He led the implementation process of a subsidiary of a telecommunications company in Chile and an innovation and technology platform for the improvement of sustainability in Spain. 

In the third sector, he collaborated with the Centre for Innovation in Technology for Development (itdUPM) in Madrid and with United Nations Global Pulse in Uganda. Prior to joining Action Against Hunger he worked with two organisations focused on using innovation for the common good in the UK, Nesta and Friends of the Earth.

Professional Experience
  • She started her professional career developing quality projects in companies of different sectors and worked for six years managing financial outsourcing projects at Deloitte.
  • In 2010, she decided to make a career change with the clear objective of working in the humanitarian sector, starting to work for Action Against Hunger as head of financial management.

Academic Background

Graduate in business studies from the Fachhochschule Reutlingen (ESB), Germany and the ESC Reims French Business School (CESEM), and holder of a diploma in Latin American studies from the University of Cambridge, England. After several years of professional experience he studied for an MBA at the Instituto Empresa in Madrid, Spain.

Professional Career

A German national, he worked between 1996 and 2002 as an independent consultant in many European countries, mainly focusing on strategic and financial analysis of multinational companies. He then spent several years at GE Healthcare as controller and finance director of a small division before joining Action Against Hunger in 2005 as director of finance and production.

Research and Innovation Director 

Academic Background

A trained nurse, with a Master's in International Health and in Management and Planning of Health Policies and Programmes. He studied at the University of Salamanca, the Carlos III Health Institute and the European University of Madrid.

Professional Career

With more than 19 years of experience in international cooperation and humanitarian action, he has worked 

in a variety of emergency, reconstruction and development contexts, in countries including Angola, Nicaragua, Somalia, the Philippines, Guinea Conakry. He teaches on various university postgraduate courses related to international cooperation, nutrition and food security.

In his current role, he leads the technical development of Action Against Hunger in the fields of nutrition, food security and access to water, sanitation and hygiene.

Academic Background

She holds a Master's in Business Administration from the Instituto de Empresa and a degree in Hispanic Philology from the Complutense University in Madrid.

Professional Career

Before joining the Third Sector, she developed her professional career in the business world, starting her career as a founding partner of the corporate communications agency Buckmeicker. She subsequently served as Director of Marketing and Communication at Apple Spain, Head of Advertising and Branding at ONO and Director of Customer Strategy at the international brand consultancy Wolff Olins. 

In 2001, she joined Médecins du Monde as Director of Communications, Advocacy and Fundraising. And between 2007 and 2020 she was Director of Communications and Fundraising at Action Against Hunger. At the same time, she was a member of the Board of Directors of the Spanish Fundraising Association, of which she was President for 5 years. 

In February 2020 she was appointed Director General of the High Commission against Child Poverty at the Presidency of the Government, 14th Legislature. 

In July 2023, she rejoined Action Against Hunger Communications and Fundraising Director. 

Throughout her career in the third sector, she has taught and given lectures on management, communication, fundraising, branding and marketing at various universities as well as national and international conferences.

Academic Background

He holds a degree in Law from the Autonomous University of Madrid and a Master's in International Trade from the Madrid Chamber of Commerce.

Professional Career

His experience began that year as head of mission for Médecins du Monde in Bosnia Herzegovina, where he worked until 1994; in 1995 he contributed to the founding of Action Against Hunger in Spain, where he coordinated logistics management until 1997, before continuing his experience as head of mission in Chad (until 1998), and then as Regional Coordinator for Action Against Hunger in the South Caucasus (1998-1999). 

He subsequently worked as Director of Operations of the organisation in Madrid (2000-2007) and then collaborated with FRIDE (European think tank based in Madrid and Brussels) as Director of Research in the Area of Development Cooperation and Humanitarian Action (2007-2010).

He is currently Director of Institutional Relations at Acción Against Hunger in Spain and served as Director of the Humanitarian Action Office of the Spanish Agency for International Development Cooperation (Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation) from June 2012 to October 2015.

Teaching and publications

He is the author of the book "Las fracturas del nuevo orden mundial" (2005, CIDEAL) and contributed to the yearbooks of the "Geopolitics of Hunger" series in 1999 and 2001 (Ed. Icaria). He has also collaborated as a lecturer in several masters on international cooperation and conflict management in different institutes such as Carlos III University, University of Pavia (Italy) and the Ortega y Gasset University Institute in Madrid, among others.

Training in economics and specialisation in auditing from the University of Oviedo.

Professional Career
  • She started her career in the business world in Spain and Belgium and later specialised in human resources and humanitarian action, where she has spent most of her professional career.
  • She has worked with the European Commission at the Vanuatu and Solomon Islands Delegations in the South Pacific.
  • She is part of the small team that launched the Action Against Hunger project in Spain in 1995 and is currently director of training and academic relations at Action Against Hunger. She has also held the positions of HR manager and director, combining her work at the Madrid headquarters with field support missions.

Academic Background

An engineer by profession, with more than two master’s degrees in chemistry and industrial engineering.

Professional Experience

He has more than 15 years of work experience in development cooperation and humanitarian aid. His experience has come in Africa, Asia and the Middle East, working since 2004 for Action Against Hunger. He speaks more than 5 languages and is responsible for the organisation's humanitarian and development operations, as well as relations with other donors, NGOs and institutions.
