Visit of Action Against Hunger representatives to VET college “Modusi”
Representatives of Action Against Hunger recently visited Modusi College in Rustavi to review how the AAH shuttle methodology was being integrated into the "Tourism Guide" Professional Training Program. The purpose of the training program is to support students to learn the roles and responsibilities of a tourist guide, the code of conduct, ethical norms, and international industry standards. They also learn how to create interesting educational excursions within the tourism industry and give practical tours for groups. This program is particularly innovative in its content, as it integrates the "Soft Skills Development for Employment" component, which is based on the "Shuttle" methodology developed by the Action Against Hunger.
This support is implemented within the framework of the project “Economic and Social Participation of Vulnerable Displaced and Local Population in the South Caucasus (EPIC)”, funded by the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ) and implemented by the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH in cooperation with the Ministry of Internally Displaced Persons from the Occupied Territories, Labour, Health, and Social Affairs of Georgia (MOH).
From Action Against Hunger Chiara Saccardi, the Head of Operations in the Middle East, South Caucasus and Moldova, Marcella Maxfield Regional Director of South Caucasus Mission and Tamar Naskidashvili Program Manager were involved in the visit and became familiarized with the course progress.
