VET colleges in Armenia conclude piloting of “Employment and Entrepreneurship SHUTTLE”
Closing ceremonies for the Employment and Entrepreneurship SHUTTLE were organized in Armenia by the French-Armenian Professional Education Center on Tuesday 22nd March and Gyumri N4 State Craftsman School on Thursday 23rd March.
Ms. Yelena Martirosyan, the Deputy Director of the French-Armenian Professional Education Center and Ms. Qnarik Aharonyan of Gyumri N4 State Craftsman School Director presented certificates at the ceremonies to the program participants, who provided testimonies on how the SHUTTLE programme has supported them. This programme has been running for four months in both vocational education centres and 48 participants in total have been engaged. The goal of the program was to empower participants to become competitive in the labor market and successful in their entrepreneurial endeavors. Group sessions, individual consultations and trainings on various topics were provided to the participants. Both colleges intend to continue using the SHUTTLE methodology within their institutions as they feel that has a positive impact on students, coaches and for the college in general.
The Employment and Entrepreneurship SHUTTLE is implemented by these two VET Institutions with technical assistance from Action Against Hunger within the framework of the project “Economic and Social Participation of Vulnerable Displaced and Local Population in the South Caucasus (EPIC)”. The project is funded by the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ) and implemented by the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH.
