Action Against Hunger calls for safe humanitarian corridors and protection of civilians in the face of mass population displacement

News

THE IMMEDIATE ENTRY OF FOOD, WATER AND FUEL INTO GAZA IS URGENTLY REQUIRED AND FUEL TO AVOID FURTHER HUMANITARIAN CRISIS

The massive displacement of more than a million residents of Gaza is causing a significant increase in humanitarian needs as civilian infrastructure has been severely damaged.

It is urgent that safe humanitarian corridors be opened to protect the population and the humanitarian teams still in the area.

Any deliberate and disproportionate targeting of civilians is contrary to international humanitarian law.

Action Against Hunger teams in Gaza report that people have started to ration their food intake due to the lack of secure access to supplies and availability of food in the market.

There is a need to allow access to life-saving food, water and sanitation and health services through border crossings and to protect both humanitarian personnel and civilians from any violence.

Action Against Hunger is a humanitarian organisation that works under the principles of impartiality, neutrality and independence. Our humanitarian response is based solely on people's humanitarian needs.
